Summer day in Managua

It looks like it will be a pretty day in Managua today. We are headed to breakfast then to meet up with the rest of the interpreters. We will drive south to Rivas and stop by the Volcano national park and the market in Masaya along the way.

Please pray for safe travel and our preparation for teaching tomorrow.

This Week's Schedule (as of right now)

Here is what we are planning on our week looking like:

• Sunday- Fly to Managua, meet up with Cairo, spend the night in Managua
  
• Monday- Meet up with Melvin and Hector (our other 2 interpreters) and drive down to Rivas. Meet up with some of the Rivas pastors and coordinate with them for the week ahead.
• Tuesday- Bible Institute 8-4
• Wednesday- Bible Institute 8-4, VBS ~5-7pm (we'll lean more about the exact VBS times when we meet with the pastors on Monday evening.)
• Thursday- Bible Institute 8-4, VBS ~5-7pm
• Friday- Bible Institute 8-4, wrap up in Rivas and drive over to San Juan del Sur (pacific coast beach town 20 miles away)
• Saturday- Enjoy a Nicaraguan beach in the morning and drive back to Managua in the afternoon
• Sunday- Flight out of Managua bright and early

VBS comes to Rivas

We will have the opportunity this trip to reach out to the kiddos of Rivas through an evening VBS a couple of nights after the Bible Institute. Hopefully this will be a great ministry to the kids as well as the moms. We are grateful to Allison and Caralisa for spearheading this part of the ministry. We'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Thanks Fellowship Church

I had the opportunity to share the specifics of this year's upcoming trip with the Fellowship Church Arkadelphia family this morning. They were very supportive and encouraging. Thanks FC for being so faithful to support this ministry through your prayers and gifts. I am grateful to be a part of a church that is so willing to consistently send people out. If you missed out this Sunday just bring your a check or money next Sunday.

We still have room for some more people to sponsor a pastor/church leader.

August 2009 Bible Institute

It is that time again...time to head south to Nicaragua for this summer's Bible Institute. We are excited about the opportunity to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nicaragua. We will be back in the city of Rivas the first week of August. We will be continuing where we left off last year with teaching bible interpretation techniques. The Niccas really embraced this material when we introduced it last trip and are looking forward to the continuation of the curriculum. We have a team of veteran Bible Institute teachers going back this trip, so it should be a blessing for both the Niccas and our team.
